The African Student Association hosts a variety of events throughout the year. We aim to structure our events to give a voice to Africans as well as minorities around the University campus to provide a sense of belonging and community and to bring light to social, and political issues we face in the community and at large. Our most notable events are African Night and Red Spots. Others include Voicing for Africa, Are you The one, Fall & Spring Kickoff.
You can get involved by contacting us via email, Facebook, or Twitter, or any of the members listed. Please include your name and email. You will be able to get added to our list-serv in which you'll get more in-depth information regarding news about the organization and what's currently happening. You can also get involved with our organization by coming to our events. And if you have any information regarding the group or its members, or would like to collaborate with us, please email us at asa@umn.edu

Our group supports the academic excellence activities that benefit the University community by providing cultural diversity and educational opportunities to students and increasing the awareness of issues affecting Africans and minorities here on campus as well as around the world. We also provide academic support to students to thrive within the University and beyond. We provide a space for students of African cultural backgrounds and those interested in the African culture to foster unity with each other.
